WNP EarShot ("the app") identifies music playing near you and sends track information to a What's Now Playing server on your local network. This policy explains what data the app uses and how.
The app accesses your microphone only while you are actively listening. Audio is processed on your device to generate an acoustic fingerprint, which is sent to Apple's Shazam service for identification. Raw audio never leaves your device. The app does not record, store, or transmit audio.
Apple's handling of Shazam data is governed by apple.com/privacy.
When a track is identified, the following data is sent to the What's Now Playing client at the host and port you configure. This client runs on your own local network. No track data is sent to us or any third party.
